BOTANICAL
MUSEUM
 The
Museo di Botanica is the most important in Italy,
with a collection of almost 4 million specimens and more
than 6000 varieties of wood.
The Museum contains herbaria from the sixteenth and
seventeenth centuries as well as a tropical herbarium.
Next to the museum is the Giardino dei Semplici
("botanical garden") founded by Cosimo dei Medici in 1545.
