PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAM

OVERVIEW

The Photo/Digital program is designed to immerse students into the city life of Florence through the exploration of different photographic and computer techniques and processes. The program at Santa Reparata combines a spacious, modern facility with staff of gifted and recognized instructors.

Students follow a curriculum of traditional analog, ³wet darkroom² techniques, and the latest digital processes using digital cameras, camcorders, and computer software. In addition to the regular courses there are short workshops dedicated to specific techniques and processes.

In the History of Photography course students place their own ideas into context through the detailed study of historical and contemporary photography.

Digital classes are taught using tutorials and prepared syllabi that allow students to master software programs through a step by step approach. Most classes have one lecture and one work session per week, with weekly assignments and practice that reinforce the material presented. Students have access to the computer lab every day from 9 am to 11pm.
